Intern Ready Workshop
We're excited to introduce our first interactive, workshop-style Workforce Innovation Series!
Join the Chamber and representatives from UW-La Crosse, Western Technical College, and Viterbo University for Intern Ready, a hands-on workshop designed specifically for small to mid-sized businesses and nonprofits looking to tap into one of our region's strongest emerging talent pools.
Whether you've wondered if your organization is ready to host an intern, aren't sure where to begin, or simply don't have the HR capacity to navigate the process, this workshop is for you.
During this interactive workshop, you'll:
- Discover how internships can become a long-term workforce attraction and talent retention strategy.
- Connect directly with career services professionals from all three higher education institutions.
- Participate in a live Handshake tutorial and create or optimize your employer account with guidance from university representatives.
- Learn about internship models, student expectations, and the differences between internships and community-engaged learning.
- Complete the Intern Ready Pledge
You'll leave with an active Handshake account, direct higher education contacts, practical resources, and a personalized roadmap for building your internship pipeline. Please bring a computer or tablet as this is a workshop! Coffee and light refreshments will be provided. See you there!
